In this Question Line video, Jason answers the following question regarding an extrusion profile:

Based on Profile of a Line tolerance of 0.24mm, what would be an acceptable approximate linear tolerance (+/-mm) for wall thickness? We are looking for an internal guideline to help those who work with calipers rather than full contour measurements.

Quick Sanity Checks on Extrusions Fig 1 e1751994085364

In the submitted drawing shown above, the internal and external surfaces of the extrusion profile are being controlled simultaneously by a profile of a line tolerance. In this video, Jason shares a few quick sanity checks that can help identify whether there’s an issue with the manufacturing process of this part. However, he emphasizes that these checks are not intended to verify the profile of a line specification itself.
