Message from Tom Geiss - Founder of GD&T Basics
With all the craziness going on, I am sure some of you are finding yourselves working remotely or in some sort of low production state at your company. With many of you in the industry now being pushed into the online/remote world, you may be looking for some training options to gain new skills during this downtime. Our team here at GD&T Basics is focused on supporting you and your team’s remote capabilities with your engineering prints.
If you are an Industry Professional:
For those interested in taking this time to learn a new skill, we want to offer you a 15% discount on any of our current online programs. Our courses have been built from the bottom up to be effective online training, and we will soon be launching some great new support options to assist those in remote teams. Most of all, you can count on our amazing team of engineers and machinists to support any questions or concerns you have - even if they have nothing to do with GD&T or engineering prints.
Even if you aren’t interested in our programs right now, focusing on improving your work skills during this time will help you make a big impact when things go back to normal. For example - for those in inspection, you can learn how to write programs in the CMM software you just began using at work, or for those designers, you can now learn how to simplify your CAD models with a csv.file inputs. Many of you will have this opportunity to gain new skills that will overall make you more confident (and thus happier) with the work you do.
For Managers and Supervisors:
I hope that most of you are able to keep business running as close to normal as possible, but I know that the shift to remote work is a drastic change. Many of you have reached out looking to build your teams’ skills during these slower days, and we want to help in any way we can. Our courses are developed to support remote teams while also providing interaction, accountability, and a real-world focus on what our students learn.
Please feel free to reach out if you need any assistance figuring out what training to offer your team during this time. Even if you are not yet interested in print reading or GD&T, we have numerous connections with other remote service providers and online trainers. We are happy to help you and your team make the best of this current situation.
Our team will continue to create valuable new resources to help everyone in our industry. Be on the lookout in the coming weeks for some great new guides and content we have been working on.
From our team at GD&T Basics (Brandon, Emily, Katie, Matt & Tom), we hope all the best for you and are here to help.
All the best,
President & Founder – GD&T Basics
